Hit-and-run collisions with Infiniti G35
A 29-year-old woman is suspected of causing four successive hit-and-run collisions on two Phoenix freeways on Monday, DPS officials said.
Gilbert resident Kristen Rowley, who was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, could face hit-and-run as well as DUI charges when she’s released, officials said.
Two others involved in the collisions were hospitalized with minor injuries, officials said.
Driving a gray Infiniti G35, Rowley allegedly hit the first vehicle on southbound Arizona 51, then drove onto eastbound Interstate 10 and struck another vehicle near Washington Street, officials said.
She then exited and got onto westbound I-10. A DPS officer located Rowley near I-10 and Fifth Avenue in Phoenix, where she had apparently struck a third vehicle.
Rowley finally stopped near I-10 and 19th Avenue, after she hit a Nissan pickup truck, causing a “chain-reaction collision” that involved the truck and two other vehicles, DPS spokesman Robert Bailey said.
She reportedly attempted to leave the scene after the fourth collision.
“Officers had to remove the keys from the vehicle in order to prevent her from attempting to drive off yet again,” Bailey said.
Six vehicles were towed after the crashes, which caused traffic woes for commuters during rush-hour traffic
