WordPress 2.9.1 Update Ready
WordPress 2.9.1 fixes this annoying bug and 23 others that are listed in WordPress Trac. Five of the bugs listed have been rated high while the majority received a normal rating.WordPress claims that this release addresses a handful of minor issues as well as a rather annoying problem where scheduled posts and pingbacks are not processed correctly due to incompatibilities with some hosts.I had the opportunity to upgrade to the latest wordpress only to downgrade it once again after serious issues present became rather evident.Even though WordPress 2.9.1 has been released it is evident that due to our experiences with 2.9.0 we are not going to upgrade our sites any time sooner.Other CMS like joomla undergo regrind test before they are released, i don’t know why word press being used by millions would let such a problem exist before undertaking a release, Maybe a new framework for issuing a release should be made.The new version is not immediately available for downloads through the automatic upgrade, however you can download the WordPress Beta tester plugin and go to Tools->Upgrade and perform an automatic upgrade.
